Ever thought of straightening your teeth without the inconvenience of braces? Invisalign may be a good option for you. This system utilizes a series of clear aligners that straighten your teeth. You can continue to eat foods you love chowing with Invisalign, not worrying about breaking off braces. Isn’t that wonderful? You’ll be informed at the consultation if Invisalign is suited for you.

Metal Braces
We offer state of the art metal braces, as well as self ligating braces. Metal braces of today are not as bulky as the braces your parents wore thirty years ago. They can be dressed up with any color of the rainbow to go with your personality or mood at the time. The fact of the matter is, we have over 20 colors for you to choose from, and you can change the colors at every appointment.

Clear (Ceramic) Braces

Our clear braces are aesthetically superior They are a milled piece of sapphire and are far less noticeable. These are a great option if you’re not interested in using colored elastics and are a popular choice for our adults patients.

Retainers

Following your active orthodontic phase, you enter what everyone calls the retention stage of treatment. When your treatment is finished, you’ll be given a set of retainers that are included in your original fee. The type of retainer given varies with every patient, but most will be upper and lower invisible retainers. Retention is for life and it is imperative that you wear retainers as prescribed by your dentist to keep your teeth straight.

Orthognathic (Jaw) Surgery

Sometimes if the imbalance between the upper and lower is too severe, then braces alone are not the best treatment. In these cases, your treatment would include jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) in addition to braces.

Why don’t we have a conversation about Dentist on Victoria and braces Dundas today? We’ll learn things about braces and how important they are if our dental situation requires it.

First…

What are Dental Braces?

We may call dental braces, or orthodontic cases as devices. They are used by dental experts to straighten teeth that are crooked or correct bites that are misaligned. They also help in re-positioning the teeth with the goal of adjusting the bite and result in an attractive straight smile.

Braces Dundas

How do braces work? They work by putting constant pressure on every tooth to move each one of them to a position appropriate for the procedure. Dentists tightened them each time they return for a visit at your Dentist on Victoria approved dentist. They apply more pressure to the teeth (albeit slightly) to further move them into the position required for the procedure.

Dentist Newington

Here we are again talking about dentists on Victoria. We’re talking about a popular topic for Newington residents. Why so? I’ll tell you in a while. Meantime, I’m referring to the topic: Dentist Newington.

It’s an essential subject because it concerns dental health. Dental health is important because it affects the overall health of an individual.

In connection to the phrase dentist Newington, Dentist on Victoria is a hot clinic there. Dentist On Victoria is a family operated dental clinic and they exist to give you the highest standards of dental service possible to be given to patients. Also, it is its top priority. By saying this, what we mean is that we want to provide a friendly and relaxed environment for all our patients. By the way, this is a famous subject for Newington. I’m referring to the subject: dentist Newington.

It’s a significant topic because it concerns dental health. Dental health is important because it affects the overall health a patient.

We know that a child’s first dental visit can be scary (for both the child and the parent, actually) so we make sure that this first experience is as fun and relaxed as possible. Children should ideally start going to the dentist by the time they are 3 years of age as they will normally have all of their baby (deciduous) teeth by then. Also, this is to get them familiar and used to the environment as this can diminish much of the child’s and parents’ fear.

Temporomandibular Jaw Disorders (TMJ)

Temporomandibular Jaw Disorders (TMJ)

Temporomandibular Jaw Disorders (TMJ)

Dentist Oatlands and Jaw disorders temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ)
Dentists look after more than the teeth, gums and mouth. They have training in facial muscles and anatomy so that they can also look after problems with the jaw. Some individuals suffer ‘clicking’ in one or both sides of their jaw. This may or may not be painful. This Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) can be dealt with by the dentist.

Our jaws are supposed to work as a symmetrical, matched manner. If there is any asymmetry then the jaw can be out of alignment, and suffer problems. Jaw alignment problems are sometimes the result of trauma, caused by a sufficiently heavy blow to one side of the face. Some jaw alignment problems are hereditary- the jawbones formed in a slightly off-centre shape. Else, a bad chewing habit, always favouring one side of the mouth, may steadily cause the jaw to develop some asymmetry.

It is possible for jaw alignment problems to be caused by a combination of factors. An earlier injury on one side of the face may cause us to chew on the other side of the mouth, eventually leading to an alignment problem that causes clicking or pain. It is not uncommon for people to start chewing with one side of their mouth if they recently had a dental operation on the other side. This may lead to temporary jaw clicking. Once the patient starts chewing correctly the alignment problems should steadily fade.

Dentist Newington Causes of jaw problems.
• Always chewing on one side of the mouth. The other side of the mouth tend to develop the clicking problem
• Grinding or clenching teeth whist asleep.
• Stress that causes teeth clenching. This often goes unnoticed.
• Migraine headaches that cause us to clench the jaw.
• An injury to one side of the jaw. Perhaps causing us to use the other side more.
• Genetics – we are born with an asymmetrical jaw.
• A tooth alignment problem may lead to asymmetrical jaw problems, at least partially because normal chewing is difficult.
Most Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ) are not too serious. While a few grow worse over time most simply stay as they are, being only a minor hindrance.

Dentist Telopea Fixing jaw problems.
• Chewing on the other side of the mouth will often alleviate the problem. This often means chewing with the side of the jaw that suffers the ‘click’.
• Chewing gum can help. If we chew on the side of the jaw that has the problem we can steadily restore the balance.
• A mouthguard will prevent nigh time tooth grinding and lessen jaw clenching.
• Have teeth alignment corrected by braces or other dental work can significantly benefit the jaw, and remove the problem over time.
• Occasionally the jaw needs to be operated on.

Jaw problems Dentist Denistone
Most jaw problems are not serious and will not grow any worse. If we develop some good chewing habits the problem will steadily disappear.
If you jaw problem does get worse, or if the problem is hard to live with, then you should consult the dentist for treatment
